Is There Anything Harder?

...than getting your 2 year old and your 8 month to sit together lovingly for a picture?

That isn't it....

Nope....

Definitely Not!

I hear you baby!

Not quite.....

Finally!

Deja Vu

From time to time I get a genuine case of Deja Vu! Having two babies so close together, it seems like Eliza is doing things that Charlie just did yesterday. Time moves too fast!! As I write this post (which is way over due), I'm in disbelief that my baby will turn 1 tomorrow. Here are some pics of Eliza in May (as a pretty new crawler....disclaimer: she took her first steps last night so I need to catch up on my posts). I've also included one of Charlie because I have a similar picture in the same pajamas.

Fun in May

We spent a lot of time outdoors during the month of May it was hot but not like it is in June. Anytime outside these days involves the pool, the splashpad, or the sprinkler! Hopefully, I'll have some pictures of those "beat the heat" activities soon but for now, here are some of the kids playing outside in May. Charlie is becoming quite the little golfer. He likes to swing like Daddy or hack at the ball Happy Gilmore style.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub....Two Kiddos in the Tub

Eliza is now old enough that I felt comfortable giving both of the kids a bath together. This picture pretty much sums up the experience. Charlie, who LOVES his baths, was none to pleased to share his coveted bathtime with his little sister. Eliza, who LOVES Charlie, thought it was the greatest thing ever! Mommy, who LOVES efficiency, also thought it was the greatest!

Visit with Emma

Eliza had a playdate with her friend Emma (my friend Elise's daughter) in early May. The girls are so cute together. The girls played together on the blanket while Charlie took a dip in the pool. Notice his purple color....I didn't realize that the water was that cold. It didn't help that he loved getting in and out, over and over. All of a sudden, I realized that he was purple and shivering. I felt like "SuperMom" when I realized my baby had hypothermia!!! Okay, so I'm being dramatic but next year, we will definitely wait until Memorial Day for a swim.

Landscaping

We have lived in our house since 2002 and our backyard has been a real dilemma. It's really large (3/4 of an acre) but it's pie shaped with our house sitting in one side corner and it's really woodsy. We have so much poison ivy that it's not even funny! So little by little, John and I have been trying to tame the wildness. We made a lot of headway this Spring. Check it out.

Girl's Best Friend

Guinny took it upon himself to shower Eliza with kisses (truth betold I think Eliza spit up and Guinness was looking for a snack...gross I know!). She loved the doggie love!

Easter 2011

We had a very nice Easter this year. Charlie woke up to find that the Easter Bunny left tracks from the front door all the way into the kitchen and his highchair where his Easter basket had been left. He was so excited to see those tracks and find his basket. After he found his basket, he retraced his steps and said "Bye Bye Esr".

After breakfast, we headed off to church and met my friend Elise and her family for Easter service. Charlie applauded extremely enthiastically for the handbell and childrens' choirs (while Eliza kept the beat on the pew in front of us) and then jibber-jabbered really loudly his rave review. We got a couple of family photos outside of church.

After church, we had a egg hunt and enjoyed our baskets outside in the sunshine. Nice photo opp too! My family came over for Easter dinner and we enjoyed that time together. Charlie especially loved having his cousins.
