Mini-Me

Okay, so I'm very lucky to have such a good helper! He loves to imitate me around the house. Check out Charlie wearing my shoes and vaccuming! He's so cute.

Tiptoe Through the Tulips

The flowers were in full bloom at the Concord Memorial Gardens this week so we took the kids there to enjoy the sights and get some photos. Charlie wasn't too happy about having to sit down for photos (go figure, a two year old who doesn't want to sit down). However, if he could explore he was having a good time! Problem was that there were all of these drops where the garden was tiered and he'd go running towards the edge or he'd stick his hand in a dirty lily pond, so we were constantly chasing after our little mischief maker. Luckily, Eliza isn't on the move YET!!

Storm Scare

We had an adrenalin filled night last night. At about 1:50 am I was awoken to a very loud and scary rolling noise outside and the house was shaking. Half asleep, it took me a minute to figure out what was going on outside. I felt like we were underseige but I didn't know by what. At first, I thought it was an earthquake but then I was scared that it was a tornado. I grabbed a robe and went and got the kids. With one in each arm, we headed down to the powder room (our lowest and most interior room). I grabbed the phone and computer so that I could get on-line and see if there was a tornado in the area. There were no warnings only watches. Charlie thought it was great fun. He had his toy vaccum and was busy flushing the toilet and washing his hands over and again. Once it blew over, I checked the house and then got the kids and put them both to bed (they went right to sleep again).

I thought for sure that it was a tornado but according to the news they believe that there were widespread straight line winds of up to 70 miles an hour. They do think a few tornados touched down (only one confirmed) but I'll never know if we had one or not. I do know one thing, I'm getting the weather radio figured out (we bought it 2 years ago and never learned how to use it).

I took some pictures of the damage to the yard (our yard and 1/2 of our neighbors yard were the only ones with any real damage)...strange.

Happy Birthday C-Bones

I cannot believe that my 1st born, the littlest guy in my life is 2! You always hear how time goes so fast but it really, really does!! Call me emotional, but I did shed a few tears, when I put Charlie to bed on his birthday. It just seems like yesterday that he was born. I can't believe how much he has changed. I'm so proud of him. Some of his favorite things to do these days are 1) vaccuming (he even got his own for his birthday), 2) "helping" mommy (laundry, sweeping, dishes, etc), 3) going on walks, 4) cookies, 5) doggies, 6) cars, Signing Time videos (teaches sign language...which he is picking up really well), 7) riding his new jeep, 8) "chewies" (vitamins which became known as "chewies" because I would always tell him "chew, chew, chew") and 9) imitating mom and dad (which is not always flattering).

He is a very sweet big brother, he is nurturing to Eliza and gives her lots of kisses. He is uber-smart (a whole year ahead according to the developmental specialists) and is at or above his age group in all areas (gross motor, cognitive, social, etc). He is going to start speech therapy twice a week to help him with his verbal motor skills and speech. I have no doubt that he will do great because he is my superstar!

His stats are 35 1/2 inches (70-90 percentile) in height and 31 lbs (70th percentile).

Here are some pictures from his birthday party with family and a couple of his close friends.

First Day of Spring

I wanted to take some photos of the kids outside on the first day of Spring. Here are my beautfiul babies.....

Boys and Their Cars

Charlie loving on his new wheels (this was Daddy's when he was a little boy). John kept such good care of it. I hope our soon to be 2 year old will keep it in good shape.
